astoundingly well polished

Find it amazing how this game has slipped through the ratings almost unnoticed. It's a fantastic game. Mimics Diablo so well. The only reason I can think of why this game isn't somewhere on the top of the Newgrounds portal listing is a) because of the 'fanboy' element of NG where you have to make a game featuring some Tom Pulp character or else, and b) the intro graphics are kinda shit.

Ingame though, fucking masterpiece. Superb engine by the way.

Hmmm

Yeah kinda dull. The AI the enemies have isn't anything to marvel at. The graphics quite lacklustre with a few swapDepth() issues. Barrels don't explode but simply vanish. And combo's where are they? Even DD had combos and that was made 20-something years ago. No run, no weapons (are there?). Sounds are baaaaad, please please don't tell me you made the sounds using your own voice aka BowMaster that is suicide for any game.
If there's anything positive to say about the game then it's that I didn't see any obvious bugs. Feel sorry for you because I know how it feels to put so much effort into a game that other people will only play for only a few minutes. Just gotta pick yourself up and try harder next time. This is quite a polished piece of work. You'll get no credit from me for the graphics (since they're just ripped from the arcade) but from a coders perspective you've done well, it runs together smoothly and even though the graphics aren't yours you havent buggered up the animations and sfx. I'll be a little harsh and criticise you for some classic noob coding (holding down any key repeats a move forever), but I praise you for doing a good job of tying it all together. I see potential in this Young Jedi. Keep making games mofo, you've a talent for it.

wasn't this concept stolen from that dude who made the 'design a new game every day for a year' blog. If I remember correctly the original title was like 'Black and White'

Have to say, from a coders point of view, +respect+
Your tile engine is sweet, it mimicks most old Snes games of the same variety. Even the jump height is determined by the length of time you hold down the key.Moving platforms etc, good fucking job man.

Superb

Wow. That's a good effin' game you folks made there.
Loved the animations, they almost look like rotoscopes. Very smooth and colourful and at the same time not too cartoonish or stupid.
Up there with Bow Master as one of my favs on Newsgrounds right now.

Well-made

It's essentially a pretty good effort. You've done especially well with the SFX. Unfortunately the game suffers from a couple of drawbacks. Namely the graphics are baaaad- and not just because they're drawn with vectors or whatever but also the physical dynamics are all wrong- it's like looking at kids pictures. If you're not a good artist, why not use rotoscoping? Basically look for one of the millions of gifs on the net of martial artists doing moves, and then use them as templates when you're drawing your own characters. Also, avoid having jumping if it's pointless.

Nice game though. I basically enjoyed it.
